Background Manager

Set the site’s background — image, video, or slideshow — with an overlay, sizing controls, and a live preview, all from one panel.

What it does

The background is the site here: pages are transparent and float over a managed background. Background Manager is where you choose that background and tune how it sits behind your content.

Set a background

  1. Open Background Manager.
  2. Pick a mode — Image, Video, or Slideshow.
  3. Upload or choose your media.
  4. Adjust the overlay and sizing while watching the live preview, then save.

Modes

  • Image — a single still background, with sizing (cover/contain) and position.
  • Video — a looping muted video background.
  • Slideshow — a set of images that cross-fade on a timer.

Overlay & readability

The overlay is a tinted layer between the background and your content — raise its opacity to keep text readable over busy imagery. Sizing controls keep the background framed the way you want on any screen.

Tips

One background, whole site. A page can opt out of showing it with the include_bg setting in Page Settings, but the default — and the intended look — is transparent pages over the shared background.

Video backgrounds should be short, compressed loops — large files slow the first paint.
